AccuWeather offers one of the most feature-rich weather experiences available, with MinuteCast precipitation forecasts being genuinely useful for planning short-term activities. The RealFeel Temperature metric provides more practical information than raw temperature readings. However, the aggressive advertising in the free tier significantly detracts from the experience -- full-screen video ads between screens feel intrusive for a utility app. Forecast accuracy is generally solid for 1-3 day predictions but degrades noticeably beyond that, which is true of most weather services. The lifestyle forecasts for running, fishing, and other activities are a nice touch but sometimes feel generic. The UI has become cluttered with features competing for attention. AccuWeather works well as a comprehensive weather dashboard, but the ad-heavy free experience and somewhat bloated interface keep it from being the clean, reliable utility many users prefer.
